EPGD Business Law is happy to announce that litigation attorney Jose Martinez has joined our team as an associate and will focus primarily on commercial litigation.

Jose, a Miami native, brings a wealth of experience to our team. He holds a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology, magna cum laude, from Florida International University, a J.D. from Washington University School of Law, and an LL.M. in Law and Entrepreneurship from Duke University School of Law.

He began his legal career as an associate at a national insurance defense firm, specializing in insurance coverage, general liability defense, and labor and employment defense. He later transitioned to a boutique firm in Coral Gables, focusing on construction law and commercial litigation.

His diverse expertise and dedication to providing innovative solutions make him a valuable asset to our firm.

Jose Martinez - presentation in brief:

Jose began his practice as an associate at a national insurance defense firm, focusing on insurance coverage, general liability defense, and labor and employment defense. He eventually transitioned from the insurance sector to practicing construction law and commercial litigation at a boutique firm in Coral Gables, Florida. A lifelong native of Miami, Jose attended Coral Gables Senior High School before completing his undergraduate studies in Sociology and Anthropology, magna cum laude, at Florida International University in 2012.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Jose spent two years as a freelance music journalist based in Miami. In 2014, he left Miami to attend Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2017. He then attended Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, earning his LL.M. in Law and Entrepreneurship in 2018.

In his spare time, Jose enjoys raising his mini Australian Shepherd, Truffle, and is passionate about his hobbies of collecting music—especially jazz—on vinyl, collecting, repairing, and restoring antique military firearms, attending live music events, and singing karaoke.

Jose is also an accomplished vocalist, having sung from an early age. Besides practicing law, music is Jose’s greatest passion.
