Frazer Ryan Founder & Partner Inducted to the Maricopa County Bar Association 2024 Hall of Fame

Nov 18, 2024 – Phoenix, Arizona

Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold, LLP, a leading Arizona-based law firm, is pleased to announce that David R. Frazer was inducted to the Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA) 2024 Hall of Fame.

Each spring, the MCBA solicits nominations of worthy candidates from the legal community. A selection committee evaluates and selects inductees and those selected are inducted at the MCBA Annual Meeting/Hall of Fame Dinner in the fall. This year’s dinner was held at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain on November 14th. The Hall of Fame’s goal is to preserve and foster the legal profession’s history in our county and to showcase the best and brightest lights to the larger community.

David “Dave” R. Frazer is a co-founder and Partner Emeritus at Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold, LLP, with a legal career spanning over five decades. Specializing in estate and corporate tax planning, exempt organizations, income tax litigation, and probate and trust administration, Dave is a prominent figure in Arizona’s legal community. His illustrious career began after earning his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1954, followed by a clerkship with Chief Judge Charles C. Simons of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

David’s career began with four years as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division and continued with a position at Lord, Day & Lord in New York City. He spent nine years at Shimmel, Hill, Kleindienst & Bishop and sixteen years at Lewis and Roca in Phoenix before co-founding Frazer Ryan in 1989. Throughout his career, Dave also taught tax law as an adjunct professor at Arizona State University School of Law, shaping the next generation of attorneys.

Recognized as one of Arizona’s top attorneys, David was the first of six attorneys at Frazer Ryan to be named a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. His leadership roles include serving in the Arizona Bar Association’s Tax Section, the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization, and the Arizona Federal Tax Institute. He was also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Dave’s community involvement is as impressive as his legal accomplishments. He was a long-time board member and vice chair of the Flinn Foundation, and he held leadership roles with the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, the Phoenix Symphony Association, and the National Conference of Community and Justice (Arizona Region). He also contributed to various organizations, including Chamber Music Sedona, St. Joseph’s Hospital Medical Research Committee, and the Maricopa Community College District Foundation.

Throughout his career, Dave received numerous honors including the Phoenix Jewish Federation’s Young Leadership Award (1968), the Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Award (1987), and the Hon Kachina Volunteer Award (2006). He was consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America from 1983 to 2005 and received the American Bar Association Silver Gavel Award for his article “Myths & Facts about the Legal Profession” (1981).

David R. Frazer’s legacy is defined by his dedication to the legal profession, his deep commitment to community service, and his passion for mentoring future generations of attorneys.
